The annual Collab Student Design Competition, held in conjunction with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, had entrants from seven different design schools with over 115 projects. One of those in San Francisco is home to first honorable mention Jeanine Wu.
“Students were asked to design an overnight bag that inspired fun and functional travel based on the museum’s exhibition Zaha Hadid: Form In Motion, which celebrates the artist’s work in the fields of urbanism, architecture and design.”
With one of the most unconventional looking designs, Jeanine incorporates both an aesthetically engaging and functional purpose to her bag. The crocheted accessory serves as a neck and back support system that has the ability to hold hot and cold packs for added comfort. A shawl that doubles as a blanket also adds to the multifunctional design of the piece.
