What you know about a cock measuring contest? China’s trying to ‘erect’ the tallest building in the world and in only 90 days! Hey guy, slow down. Tallest building is crazy enough, you don’t gotta three months the shit. But they say they can and they probably will. Okay, more power to you! Here are the deets:

WHAT: Sky City 2,749 feet (838 meters) distributed in 220 floors

WHERE: Changsha city, by the Xiangjiang river

WHEN: End of this month!

They will be able to achieve this impossibly fast construction rate by using a prefabricated modular technology developed by Broad Sustainable Building, a company that has built 20 tall structures in China so far, including the that 30-story hotel.

Since they built that hotel, the company has been perfecting their technology, which they are now claiming will turn their project into the world’s tallest skyscraper in just three months. That’s a whooping five floors per day, which seems just absurd.

So, there you have it! And it’s not just an empty shell for show (hey North Korea!), the building will be like a literal city with residential areas, schools, and shops! Insane. Some people are skeptical about the whole thing but if it does happen, I’d love to visit. On another note, with these new technologies think about how fast they can create whole metropolises with looming skycrapers, the future is here?!

Did you know that 45% of the highest building in construction are in China.
If Russia holds 5/10 of the highest skycrappers in Europe, including the Mercury City, 9/20 of the highest building in construction of the world are in China, among them the Ping An Finance Center by Kohn Pedersen Fox with 660 m, which will be the 2nd tallest tower in the world in 2015, and Gensler Shanghai tower with 632 m.
