‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ Sequel Underway

It’s been over a decade since Ang Lee’s classic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon came out and now they’re putting together a sequel.

The new film is adapted from Silver Vase, Iron Knight, the fifth book in Wang Du Lu’s Crane-Iron Pentalogy, the same multi-volume source material that inspired Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The story will reportedly pick up with Yu Shu Lien, the character played in the original by Michelle Yeoh.

Judging by the comments online, it seems like there aren’t too many people interested in seeing this and it’s understandable. How do you make a sequel 12 years later? And who from the original cast/team is returning to be a part of it? All I know is I don’t remember being too big on the original because when you’re younger, you don’t really care for beautiful romance stories and all that. But the fight scenes were pretty dope.

Also Zhang Ziyi.
