Didn’t think another Bourne movie would come out to be honest. The newest one doesn’t include Matt Damon but Edward Norton and Jeremy Renner.
Matt Damon may not be reprising his titular role as Jason Bourne, but his legacy as the US government operative gone rogue lives on in The Bourne Legacy. Neither a reboot, nor a prequel, the Bourne Legacy explores the original canon story of a new hero played by Jeremy Renner (of Hurt Locker fame), as penned and directed by franchise mastermind Tony Gilroy. Apparently the Treadstone Project that Damon spent three wildly successful movies unmasking, was only the “tip of the iceberg,” leaving room for a fresh interpretation of the storyline by Renner’s character. Also new to the franchise are Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton, while ‘Bourne’ veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, and David Strathairn will be reprising their respective roles. The Bourne Legacy is expected to hit theaters this summer.
