Damn.

A Malaysia Airlines flight coming out of Kuala Lumpur on its way to Beijing lost contact with air traffic control and went missing this afternoon (1:40pm EST). The plane was carrying 239 passengers, including two infants and 12 crew members. They say 160 of them were from China and the rest were from all over.

“Malaysia Airlines is currently working with the authorities who have activated their Search and Rescue team to locate the aircraft,” the airline said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected passengers and crew and their family members.”

The last time they had contact with the plane, it had about seven hours of fuel left so at this point, it’s no longer flying. Pray for them.

UPDATE:

So this tragic incident has now transformed into some other, other shit.

Turns out two of the passengers were using stolen passports, the plane never sent out a distress signal before it disappeared in midair, and no debris from the plane has been located. Malaysia Airlines are suggesting the plane may have turned around but the pilots would’ve radioed in. Yo, what is going on!?
