Touch is one of the greatest and most popular manga/anime series of all time. I mean, in a recent poll of popular male and female characters Touch’s main characters Tatsuya (13th) and Minami (1st) ranked pretty high. Minami got FIRST, dawg! So yeah, that show was a big deal! I don’t even remember how I found out about it, but I was hooked on it for a minute during high school and failed a couple tests because of it. Then I got my brother hooked and fucked up all his productivity for like a year. Yeah, one of those type of shows! Anyway, here are details about the new series Mix and how it relates back:
The story of Mix takes place in the same Meisei Gakuen high school as Touch, only it is set 26 years later. (Touch debuted in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 1981.) Like Touch, Mix revolves around brothers, and promotional images indicate that Mix will also have the sport of baseball as a theme.
The May issue of Gessan will have a preview of Mix on Thursday. To celebrate the new series launch, the June issue will bundle a clear file and offer all of its readers a set of postcards with famous lines and art from Adachi’s Touch.
So yeah, I’m going to pick that up.
