Spoken word is alive, son! And it’s going down in San Jose on Saturday, May 5th. I haven’t peeped the scene since Ishle Park and Yellow Rage was on Def Poetry Jam and all that, but I’m sure it’s a lot of new voices out there whinnying with the passion of wild stallions, as well as seasoned vets who have been honing their craft and droppin’ gems on the domes of these new chyeah-nerations. Yo yo yo! Aiight, peep the info from the host Dan Dandiggity Le:

I’ll be hosting San Jose’s FIRST ever Asian & Pacific Islander Spoken Word Showcase! This is very important for the Southbay to have a space for APIA literary arts to flourish as well as build a community of “story tellers” to share their tapestries with the larger body. Headed by poet Chris Locsin and featuring the amazing Proletariat Bronze (Jason Bayani, Joshua Mesej Wheeler, Jaylee Alde). Music provided by DJ Shea Butter. Doors at 7pm. Students $8 General $10. See you there!
