“China’s One Child Policy was implemented in 1979. Since 1989, 150,000 children from China have been adopted around the world…” and this new documentary Somewhere Between follows the lives of four teen girls who are a product of that. Some of them live in diverse-as-fuck California and some are in the All-American South. Judging from the trailer, you can already see the effects their environments have on their attitudes and mannerisms, but they all generally seem to have a positive outlook on the situation. But it must also help to know that a lot of their parents were forced to give them up by government law. Yeah, I’m definitely interested in checking this one out.
