Unagi Travel is a ‘travel agency’ for stuffed animals. It all began when 38-year old Sonoe Azuma uploaded flicks of her stuffed eel going on trips and the posts gained popularity. Since then over 200 stuffed animals have booked trips and most of them are regulars, paying anywhere from $20 to $55 depending on the destination…

Alright, who the hell is going to pay someone to take their stuffed animals on sightseeing trips?

HAHAHAHHAHA WHAT IN THE ENTIRE FUHHHHHHH…sick people? Sick people who see the images of their stuffed animals and live vicariously through them and feel inspired to get well again??!?!

The stuffed animal tours offer encouragement to their owners.P

“I want to see and walk around the sights that I viewed through my stuffed animal’s journeys someday,” a 51-year-old woman from Saga Prefecture told Yomiuri. The woman had become a recluse because an illness had made walking difficult. However, she was inspired to rehabilitate her legs and go out in the world after seeing her stuffed animal on an Unagi Travel tour.P

“Seeing my stuffed animal traveling encouraged me,” she said. “I began to think that I should do what I can do, instead of lamenting over things that I can’t.”
